Fun at the Petting Zoo

I love to go to Deanna Rose: Children's Farmstead. It is close to our house and the best part (for Mom that is) is that it is free!! There are a lot of animals to see and pet there. Mom has taken me there several times, both with our playgroup and by ourselves. I love to see all the different animals. They have buffalo, hawks, eagles, bobcats, goats, sheep, chickens, peacocks, horses, pigs, and cows. My favorite are the baby goats and the cows.

The previous time we went to Deanna Rose they were weaning some of the baby cows. One of them stuck it's head through the gate and tried to eat the tray off my stroller. He then mooed in my face. I just laughed in his face. I'm not scared of any cows!!

During this visit we were in the dairy barn when a milking demonstration was going on. This little calf was not being very patient for her milk bottle. Every time she mooed I laughed. You can hear the farmer talking about cows in the background.

After the presentation was over I clapped. I think I scared the calf.

The best part of Deanna Rose is getting to bottle feed the baby goats. You can purchase a bottle of goat milk for $1. You can go right into the goat pen and have fun.

You become very popular when you are the one holding the milk bottle.

I've got this down pat. I hold the bottle and the goat does the rest.

They just can't get enough

I'm done feeding the goats Mom. You can feed them now. I just want to play with them.

Mom taking a picture as she is feeding one of the goats.

What are you doing laying down?

Come on, let's play!!!!

Megan is into kissing everything, including goats.

The End.

A few months ago we got to see the cow milking demo, too. Loved it! _I_ had never seen something like that! You know the fake cow with the fake milking station in the back of the barn? Well... Park thought it would be a good idea to try to drink out of one. yummy. And, he ALWAYS takes a taste of the goat milk at the baby goat feeding place before I can catch him.:) I LOVE DR! Hope you're doing well!!!
